Ciudad perdida tour of 5 Days


Start of our adventure


DAY 1 (Santa Marta-Mamey-Camp)


  • Reception of staff at 8:30 am depending on the hotel where you are staying will pass a transport to pick it up.

  • Approximately 3 hours tour by Jeep or 4x4 truck by paved road (1 hour 30 min) and fully uncovered Trocha (1 hour 30 min).

  • Arrival of the Mamey village (also known as Machete Pelao) this is the starting point of our walk through the magical and unique lost city.

  • Typical lunch of the region.

  • Start our walk of approximately 7.6 km (4.7 miles) to reach the first cabin "Adan or Alfredo" where we will spend our first night. (The sleeping ones are usually in beds or hammocks with mosquito nets, these include blankets to shelter in the night).

  • During this tour we will enjoy natural pools offered by the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta and in which we can take a delicious bath, which will make it more pleasant to continue the walk during the tour to Lost City.

  • Dinner at first camp.

  • Break


DAY 2 (Meeting with indigenous communities)


  • Breakfast before leaving.

  • Very early departure from the first cabin, at approximately 6:00 am or 6:30 am to continue our journey.

  • Passing through the “Wiwa” camp you can cool off in the waters of the Buritaca River.

  • Lunch at Camp “Wiwa”

  • Then the tour continues along “Mutanyi”, an indigenous town inhabited by the Kogui ethnic group and where the guide will make a stop to provide information about the indigenous cultures of the Sierra Nevada.

  • Later we go to the “Paraíso Teyuna” camp where we spend the second night. This camp is located just 1 hour from Lost City.

  • The approximate route for this day is about 15 km (9 miles) about 8 to 9 hours of adventure and unique landscapes.

  • Dinner at the “Teyuna Paradise” camp

DAY 3 (Lost city and cultural exchange)


  • Breakfast before leaving.

  • This is the day we finally arrive in Lost City; We will climb 1200 steps and as we go forward we will find terraces built over a thousand years ago, until finally reaching the archaeological rings that were the foundations of the main settlement of the disappeared Tayrona culture.

  • During this guided tour you will learn more about Lost City and enjoy the landscape that nature offers us; It is possible that you can enjoy a bath in the well of youth, place that according to legend, has wonderful properties.

  • We will descend until we reach paradise Teyuna.

  • Lunch at “Paraíso Teyuna”

  • We will undertake a walk to the place where we will spend the third night the “Wiwa” cabin in this we will live an experience of cultural exchange, this approach will allow us to know its worldview, lifestyle and crafts.

  • Wiwa dinner

  • Break

DAY 4 (descending)


  • Breakfast before leaving

  • Early departure from the cabin until you reach the first cabin “Adam or Alfredo”

  • Lunch at Adam's cabin

  • Afternoon Free (here you can enjoy a delicious swim in the natural pools that this place has).

  • The ecological walk for this day's tour is approximately 4 to 5 hours (7 kms), here you will spend the fourth night

  • Dinner at Adam's cabin



DAY 5 (Ends our tour)

  • Breakfast before leaving.

  • Departure at 6:00 am

  • Ecological walk back to Mamey starting point

  • lunch

  • Tour by Jeep or 4x4 to the hotel in Santa Marta

  • End of our adventure.
